Your insurance
claim, explained.
A plain-English walkthrough of what to expect when you file a roof claim in Georgia — and what most homeowners get wrong without an experienced advocate.
Start with a free inspection →The 6-step process
Independent inspection (before you file)
The biggest mistake homeowners make is calling their insurance company first. File a claim and the carrier sends THEIR adjuster — who works for them, not you. Get an independent contractor inspection first. That gives you a damage report, a photographic record, and an honest assessment of whether you have a viable claim before the carrier puts skin in the game.
Filing the claim correctly
Carriers look for reasons to delay or deny — wrong language on the claim, missing documentation, late filing. We help you file with the right wording, the right timing, and the supporting documentation that protects you from common pitfalls.
Adjuster on-site (we’re with you)
The adjuster’s inspection is the single biggest factor in how much you get paid. Adjusters are efficient — they handle dozens of claims a day. Having your contractor on-site to walk the roof with them, point out damage they’d otherwise miss, and discuss scope is what separates a $10,000 check from an $18,000 check.
Initial estimate & supplements
The first estimate from the carrier is almost always short. Missing items typically include Overhead & Profit (often 20% of the total), code upgrade requirements, full flashing replacement, and recoverable depreciation. We prepare detailed supplements with full documentation until the scope reflects the actual cost of proper restoration.
Approval & installation
Once scope is agreed and your deductible is paid, we schedule installation. Most homes are completed in one day. Premium materials, magnetic nail sweep, full cleanup, final walkthrough.
Final payment & recoverable depreciation
On RCV policies, your carrier withholds a portion of the payment until work is complete. Most homeowners forget to file for it. After the job is done, we help you submit proof of completion so your carrier releases the withheld depreciation — money most homeowners never know to collect.
The result
Most of our customers pay only their deductible. We handle the rest — filing, adjuster coordination, supplements, and final payment. You sign once at the start, you stay informed, and you end up with a properly restored roof that reflects what the storm actually cost.
That’s how a roof insurance claim is supposed to work — when you have an experienced advocate on your side.
